When exploring the Simulation, gameplay takes on a tense feel, influenced by stealth and survival horror games. Navigating the dark area, players have to choose between lighting up their immediate vicinity, covering their light as to not be seen, and focusing their light to see far-away objects. But they are not alone, as Ghostbirds will try to find them and remove them from the Simulation. Conceptually, these areas are incredibly interesting, and they’re visually stunning alongside frightening. However, the AI for the Ghostbirds can be a bit obtuse, so avoiding them can prove ridiculously difficult at times. CORVIDAE can also include stealth elements to avoid various Crowfolk, perhaps using a system of shiny objects to lure around Crowfolk as opposed to navigation with a lantern. But the characters will have to be better explained and choreographed in the game to prevent frustration for players.
