OUTER WILDS: ECHOES OF THE EYE has an incredibly nuanced way of showcasing its narrative, regardless of whether players have played the main game or not. As the Stranger hosts a strange alien race, the player can’t translate any of their language, and has to piece together the story through reels scattered throughout the strange vessel. By having a purely visual depiction of events, players have to work harder to understand the nuance of the world. Something similar can be implemented in CORVIDAE, focusing on an art-centric culture where ideas are conveyed through paintings, signs, and even material art like pottery and sculpture.
